Winner!

After many hours of work, race night had finally arrived.  The one night every scout, and dad, looks forward to.  Every boy had their game face on and there was no messing around tonight.  Jonah's car was finally up for the first race.  Please let him win just 1, mom prayed.  When the night was over Jonah was declared the winner of the wolf den with 6 wins and no losses.  He was only .02 seconds off the fastest car of the night.  Now I know you are all thinking, of course he has an engineer for a dad, but BJ was great to step back and let him draw the design, cut and sand the car, paint, and help figure out where the weight should go.  But, when it came to the wheels, it was all BJ and the graphite lubricant.  I think it was Mark Hardy's 35 cents glued to the top that put us in the winners circle.  Jonah had a great night and is off to regionals on Saturday, we will keep you posted.

Where is the Spring?

It has been a snowy winter and we loved that Emma, Taylor
and Riley could enjoy the snow hill by the porch.

This was not so much fun.  Or was it, Tyler?

Jonah's baptism - January 10, 2009

Glad we were able to travel to Tucson with Tyler and Heather, where
we participated in Jonah's baptism.  He was the only baptism in the stake, so Bishop Carter
had Heather give the opening prayer and Tyler the closing.  Grandpa Ron
and Grandpa Ashby were the witnesses.

Kristin is the primary president in the Butterfield Ward and welcomed
Jonah as the newest member of the ward.  She taught us about the purpose
of Primary:  Teach the gospel to the children and help them live it.
She shared her favorite scripture from D & C 50: 40 - 42

BJ blessed Jonah to follow the example of the Savior, to hunger and thirst
after good things, to love others and continue to move forward on the gospel path.
Many other things were promised to Jonah as he listens to the Holy Ghost

What a joy as grandparents to have such amazing grandkids who
continue to be good examples as they make correct choices.
This is just the first of many baptisms in our family and
we will celebrate down the road as everyone gets their turn.
